FINANCIAL INTERMEDIATION IN THE NATIONAL ECONOMY AND ITS STATE REGULATION IN UKRAINE

The article analyzes the trends in the development of financial intermediation in Ukraine, determines its role in the national economy, and considers the main regulatory documents that carry out state regulation. The effective functioning of the financial market is impossible without the formation and development of reliable financial intermediaries, in particular, banks and non-bank financial institutions. The authors reveal their role and importance as key components of the infrastructure that provide market entities with financial resources and promote the activities of active investors. The article substantiates the prerequisites for the emergence of financial intermediaries, depending on their role in the financial market. The article characterizes the main functions of financial intermediaries and the main macroeconomic indicators that characterize the role of financial intermediaries in the economy of Ukraine for 2020-2023. The authors emphasize that financial intermediation in Ukraine is regulated by a number of regulatory documents that cover banking activities, non-bank financial institutions, insurance companies, credit unions, investment funds, and other financial market entities. The article proves that state regulation is aimed at ensuring the stable functioning of the financial sector, protecting the rights of consumers of financial services, and supporting economic growth.
In Ukraine, financial intermediation plays an important role in the accumulation of capital, its redistribution between different sectors of the economy and creating conditions for economic growth. At the same time, the country's financial system faces numerous challenges, in particular crises that cause financial instability, war, growing risks, and the need to adapt to new conditions of international trade and investment.
Financial intermediation in conditions of military conflict, like any other economic process, undergoes significant changes. Problems of access to capital, increasing risks of insolvency, shortage of resources, and search for new sources of investment require a revision of approaches to the management of financial resources. Therefore, studying the development of financial intermediation in Ukraine and implementing its state regulation is relevant for understanding ways to overcome crisis phenomena and promote economic growth in the future.
