THE ROLE OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY IN PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION

The article examines the key role of information technology in the modernization and improvement of the public administration system. The main focus is on how IT contributes to increasing the transparency, efficiency and effectiveness of government agencies. The study reveals the importance of electronic systems in the provision of public services, which allows to reduce bureaucratic procedures and ensure the availability of information to citizens. It analyzes the impact of digital solutions on simplifying administrative processes, optimizing costs, and reducing the impact of the human factor. It is highlighted how IT helps to ensure control over public finances and decision-making processes, helping to reduce corruption. The risks associated with the use of information technology in public administration, including cybersecurity, are outlined, and strategies for minimizing them are proposed. Current trends in the use of information technology in the public administration system of Ukraine, including digital reforms such as Diia and other initiatives aimed at digitalizing the public sector, are described. The study of the role of information technology in public administration is relevant and a key factor for increasing the effectiveness of governance, which ensures the improvement of public services and increases public confidence in government.
Digitalization contributes to the optimization of costs in the public sector and accelerates management decision-making, which is critical for modern challenges and needs. However, with the use of IT, new risks arise, in particular, those related to cyber security, which require the development of comprehensive information protection strategies. In Ukraine, the introduction of such platforms as «Diya» shows significant progress in the direction of digital transformation of public administration. This has a positive effect on citizens' trust in state institutions and increases the efficiency of state bodies. Thus, the use of information technologies is a key factor for the development of effective, transparent and accessible public administration that meets the needs of modern society.
