The article states that the role of the NATO Science and Technology Organization is to maintain NATO's scientific and technological advantage by generating, sharing and using advanced scientific knowledge, technological developments and innovations in support of the Alliance's core missions. Implementation of these tasks is the report prepared by the Organization «Scientific and technological trends: 2020-2040», which contains an assessment of promising and breakthrough technologies, their impact on NATO's military operations and its defense potential. The big data analytics process includes four elements: data collection (sensors); data transfer; data analysis; decision-making. Big data can come from humans (social media, bioinformatics, etc.), from the physical world (sensors), and from the information space (cybernetics, analysis, etc.). The author substantiates that big data analytics is fundamental for the rest of promising and breakthrough technologies for the further development of military security. Big data analytics will be provided by scientific and technical developments in various fields, which include: the use of human characteristics; modeling for social networks; modular multi-sensor thermonuclear engines; use of modeling and simulation tools and services in the cloud; visual analytics; decision support through simulation and simulation on the battlefield; technologies of distributed registers; cognitive probing; compression sensing; computational visualization; deep learning; sensing of electric and magnetic fields; photonic integrated circuits; and broadband Internet. The author states that all breakthrough technologies that are analyzed and developed by NATO countries should also be developed in Ukraine, which is a country where there is a war and it is possible to test these technologies in field conditions. In addition, it is important to develop scientific institutes and scientific research on innovative global trends in the military security system in order to ensure the national security of Ukraine.
