CHALLENGES OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT OF THE AGRICULTURAL SECTOR OF UKRAINE: STRATEGIC PRIORITIES OF THE GOVERNMENT

The article examines the modern mechanisms of government management of the agricultural sector of Ukraine based on the analysis of strategic documents for 2020-2024, the government's actions on the legal framework of sustainable development. The purpose of the article is to determine the directions of the government policy of the agricultural sector of Ukraine for the implementation of strategic tasks of sustainable development of Ukraine and European integration. The information base is the Law of Ukraine on Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine on the Transfer of Agricultural Land, the State Regional Development Strategy for 2021-2027, the Strategy for Supporting Grain Storage, the National Economic Strategy for the Period Until 2030, «New Agrarian Policy», «Emergency appeal. Ukraine – 2022», United Nations Transitional Framework Program for Ukraine for 2022-2023 (2023-2027). An analysis of the modern regulatory and legal framework, as well as the actions of the government, international and European organizations regarding the support of the agro-industrial complex in the implementation of the goals of sustainable development of Ukraine, was made. A complex of challenges for the further implementation of the government policy of sustainable development of the agricultural sector of Ukraine: viability of all subjects of the agro-industrial sector and establishment of their effective work, internal and external logistics, food safety, fulfillment of obligations regarding European integration, production of competitive products, financial support of the state. The strategic priorities for the development of the agricultural sector in Ukraine are substantiated and determined, based on the analysis of the project of the new agrarian policy in the conditions of the reconstruction of the country: the economic transformation of the agro-industrial complex and the development of the agricultural infrastructure, where great attention should be paid to European standards.
